It looks like one of the more well known skate shops has ceased operations. As the image above states, Mile High Skates has ceased operations effective immediately. Checking out their forum over at Silverfishlongboarding.com it looks like Mile_High_Mark has confirmed their departure by posting a 2003-2012 final post with nothing more than a waving Elvis.

It’s always sad to see shops that have played a role in the growth of longboarding go away. Hopefully this won’t be a trend for our other favorite shops. Let’s all take a moment of silence out of respect… and ok that’s enough sadness. It’s sunny out, go skate.
