Some people just have way too much fun! The Hop Shop crew travelled to New Zealand awhile ago to check out the hills and the race scene. Adam Yates and a pre-injury Jacko raced the finals at the Wellington Wind Turbine race, with Jacko pulling off the win. Hit play for more awesome skating and beautiful scenery than you can shake a stick at.

The longboarding scene in New Zealand has caught up with the times and the scene over there is booming. With amazing hills and beautiful terrain all over the country it is turning out to really be the adventure zone, now with downhill skateboarding added to the list of things to do there.
Hopkin skate got behind the annual Wellington Wind Turbine race which has now hit legit status by sponsoring the event and sending over some of the boys (and girl!) to teach New Zealand a little thing or two about racing, but not before the team were to sample some of Wellington’s finest skate spots!

Born in Chicago and raised on the flat Canadian prairies, it wasn’t until moving to Ontario for school in 2005 that Justus got a taste for riding skateboards down hills. Since then it’s been a bit of an obsession. He graduated with a degree in Film Studies, but spent as much time focussed on skateboarding as he did on studying. Now he’s living the good life in Oakland, California, riding his motorcycle and working as Editor-in-chief for Skate[Slate].
