Push Culture News put together an awesome report on the events of the Catalina Classic. It’s great to see so many high-profile new events popping up everywhere!

We headed out to the Riviera Catalina Classic Invitational Downhill race on beautiful Catalina Island, CA. Invitation only means the top names in downhill skating all came together to put on an epic weekend of skating. Mike Vallely ran a half pipe demo on Saturday to celebrate 25 years as a pro. And James Kelly took top honors on race day beating out possibly the most competitive race field this year.

Born in Chicago and raised on the flat Canadian prairies, it wasn’t until moving to Ontario for school in 2005 that Justus got a taste for riding skateboards down hills.
