There are plenty of terrible short films made by skaters that attempt to portray “the perfect day of skating”. This is not one of those.

Directed by Matt Arderne and starring Reece Trout, it follows a skater through a magical morning in Cape Town, South Africa, as the rider searches for that moment that we’re searching for every time we go out for a skate.

Relax, set it to 720p fullscreen, sit back in your chair, let go of the mouse, don’t click 1 minute in, just let it play..

A simple story, one person chases the fleeting feeling of perfection that lifts him from the daily grind up to a quiet place in the clouds.

Born in Chicago and raised on the flat Canadian prairies, it wasn’t until moving to Ontario for school in 2005 that Justus got a taste for riding skateboards down hills. Since then it’s been a bit of an obsession. He graduated with a degree in Film Studies, but spent as much time focussed on skateboarding as he did on studying. Now he’s living the good life in Oakland, California, riding his motorcycle and working as Editor-in-chief for Skate[Slate].
