Devil’s Peak Downhill 2018 Announced
Colorado is a hotbed of downhill skateboarding, with some legendary skaters, hills and events coming from the state. Devil’s Peak Downhill, while still new, has already started to build it’s status both locally and internationally. With a huge grip of Colorado riders getting behind the event, including last year’s winner, Calvin Staub, you can be sure the event will pop-off. Organizer Justin Rolo and his team put on a great event in 2017 and are back for 2018 thanks to Venom Skate and a host of other sponsors.
Read below for more details and mark your calendars for August 18th and 19th.

Venom, in partnership with Justin Rolo, is proud to announce the return of Devil’s Peak Downhill. A hectic skateboarding race on a 1.5 mile section of the infamous Guanella Pass in Georgetown, Colorado.
Dates: August 18th and 19th, 2018
After a successful first go at the event in 2017, we’re more than excited to bring a bigger and better event for this year. Huge thanks to all of you who made the 2017 race such an overwhelming success! Without the staggering support of the community, we wouldn’t be back for 2018! We’re doing everything we can to make Devil’s Peak Downhill a better event for everyone involved with improved parking, camping, structure, and other amenities.
Just as last year, the goal is to produce an exemplary event that truly showcases the ‘Colorado’ style of doing things, skateboarding and otherwise, following in the footsteps of local legends Justin DuBois and Pagan Downhill. We’ll even be bringing back, King of the start line, Big Ty to help run the show, as well as Ali from the Maryhill Ratz crew to keep things running smoothly!
Devil’s Peak features a 1.5 mile classic mountain pass course, speeds over 50mph, 7 turns (4 hairpin corners), rough high-country pavement, and a drop-in point at 10,000ft elevation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This will be an open skateboarding event, no timed qualifying, no classes, no lay down, just plain ol’ skateboarding.
Event registration will open early Spring. Exact date still to be determined. Colorado *Locals-Only* registration will be a day earlier. Registration cap will be 150 riders, at $150.00. We expect a higher demand for spots this year, so don’t sleep on registration when it opens!!
Registration will be here: www.venomskate.com/
