Kyle Chin explains important aspects of the toeside predrift: lines, stance/body position, weight distribution, slide initiation/modulation, hookup, and avoiding common mistakes.
Please note that sliding style often varies from rider to rider. This is not the only way to execute a toeside predrift, but it is the most common (and easiest to learn) form.

Day 1
Day one started after a day of challenging hay setting. Uncommon to any other race the baboons here enjoy moving hay after its been placed. Other than a bit of hay on the road the day started quickly with a cut off on registration so everyone would show up on time. So most were there just before 10 AM to get registered tech inspected and start skating. Everyone was anxiously waiting to skate, after a quick riders meeting everyone was up and ready and runs began.
Similar to Houwteq the previous week starting marshals were checking helmet tightness and tech inspection stickers which is nice to see. The course was clean and baboon free so we started with single rider runs and soon moved into full practice runs. Thankfully organizers were fine with runs of more than four people, and riders had the option to go down in larger groups.
After getting comfortable with the course it was clear momentum was key, lots of lighter riders using larger wheels to carry speed on a few of the courses flats and uphills while some larger riders were using smaller wheels for better acceleration when drafting. With a huge headwind drafting was key and an aero helmet helped heaps.

Skate[Slate] partner DTC Wheels helped support this half hour long documentary about downhill skateboarding by filmmaker Artiom Missiri. Featuring a number of Geneva riders, it was produced to help explain the sport to outsiders and to share our passion with them. Check it out and spread the stoke.
"Stand Up" is a documentary about downhill skateboarding made for a school project. It shows the world of longboarding to the people who don't know very much about the sport and explains it while showing aspects as the pleasure of riding, safety, events, the community... Highlighting of a not so well-known sport, made up of a little open and welcoming family.
