performs well, bit pricey
like a lot of things from loaded this deck is pretty pricey. However if you have the money for it, it's a fun board. Flex doesn't seem to wear out like the dervish, and is really nice for soaking up vibrations. really fun dancing board and the kicks come in handy. I wish it had some mellow concave, but that's personal preference. all in all it's a fun board, and if you like the flat platform I'd say go for it
fun wheels
These wheels have a pretty fast urethane, if you're using them just for racing they'll last quite a while depending on your style. they do wear quick if you're throwing down slides, so you may want to look to a more durable wheel if that's your style. great to go fast on when they're new, and fun to go sideways on when you break em in. everything you'd expect from otang
not one of my faves
I don't really feel like the flex works with this type of board, throws me off in the park and makes for not a very fun ride, on top of that the pricetag is wack when you compare it to other oldschool decks that get the job done a lot better. I'd also like it more if it was wider in the back, it gets skinny right where you want your feet to be
If you're looking for a fun board to take to the parks, look somewhere else, if you want a board you can take around campus, then this one might serve you well
sweet board
I'm tired of people saying sector 9 sucks or that they're only good for beginners. This board proves that not only does sector 9 have some great gear, but you can also podium with their boards. Kicka** topmount, with comfortable concave that keeps you locked in, chop the tail shorten the wheelbase and you have a board that's equivalent to what everybody else is paying a lot more from other companies
Nice light Glove maybe to light...
Nice light Glove maybe to light... after about a month of riding on them they were riddled with holes.
The pucks were nice and very sliddie I liked the inset Sector9 logo, They did end up wearing kinda fast i had to rotate them about every so often and the pucks can be ripped of easer then what i would like, like I almost lost them like 3 times in one day.
Overall I feel like you could go down to Home Depot and make the same quality gloves for half the price
81a Flashbacks
Cool Wheels, There is a lot of grip in them they are hard to break in to a stand up slide with them but once you break them they slide very nice.
If you are having board bit slap these babies on and it will help do to the flat flush side set really gives you the full 180 out of your 180 trucks but cuz of that flat flush they where fast from the inside to the out.
Good Wheel and Cheep!
Its Very Nice!
Great Wheel. I have had them set up on a Dervish, Great Freeride wheel, Great for sliding and still able to grip it up. A better all around wheel then the 86a yellers. Yellows focus more on the slide Purps grip and slide. Fun fun fun!
AWESOME!
Great Wheels I LOVE THE COLOR!!! Performance is great! really a great slide from the 4Prez 80a slide a lot more then you would think! Really great race wheel. Great drift and Grip! They did start to cone fast and I managed to oval them after a couple of race day events. So now i use them for stand ups on my Killswitch it really is a great combo! The 70mm is fast and fun!
Great Board!
This is a great fun board to have in your Quiver!
Its a very good looking clean board, I liked the kick in the back made it fun for manuals and flat tops Beware of razor tail! In just over a month of riding it was already scraped down the P-tex so just watch out. Great flex with the top mount made it hard to bottom out, A lil bit of board bit if you turned to hard with 150s maybe a riser or 180s would stop that.
Overall great board!
great for some techy dh
once again another fun wheel from otang, the smooth-sliding thane make these a great choice if you plan on predrifting that turn up ahead. only problem with them is the price.
fun freeride wheel
if you're looking for a larger freeride wheel, then here it is. the thane on these is pretty chalky so the slides come very easy. These things also paint fat lines on the road. fun wheel for going sideways, only downside is they flatspot pretty easily once they're below 70mm
fun fast wheels
When I first got these wheels I was surprised by how wide they were. This translates to a lot of grip, and a lot of rolling momentum, very fun wheel for going fast and sticking those turns
great, comfortable board
This is a great board, it's very stiff so it's quite responsive at speed. the concave is comfortable and the board is great for hitting insane speeds. good board if you have a larger tuck as well
Not as good
This was a ok board. I felt like it was way to flexy under my 170 pounds and over it just felt like it was trying to be the Dervish and I felt like the Dervish just did every thing just that much better. I did like the plastic bumpers thats something i could see as a very good addition to a lot of boards.
Overall I would say spend the extra 20 and get the Dervish.
But if you dont have it this would still be a great board to have!
everything I expected
this is marketed as one of the most comfortable speedboards on the market, and it definitely is. I almost feel like I could take a nap going downhill on one. built really solid, it feels super stable at speed with pretty much every truck/wheel combination I've ever had on it. I highly recommend this board if you're looking to get into downhill
funn board
really fun board, my only problem with it is that I felt a little cramped doing toeside predrifts and toeside hairpins
other than that it's a great board that's built well. If you're a smaller guy (or girl) looking to get into downhill, this is the perfect deck for you.
really fun board
This board is one of the most fun boards I have ever ridden. If you are looking to get into freeriding this may be the board for you. The concave rocker combo makes it ridiculously easy to maintain control over your slides, and the board is also great for pushing and cruising too, because of it's low height. price tag is pretty good for a board that performs so well
great race board
this board is awesome if you're planning on racing. the concave almost wants you to tuck on it. that being said if you're planning on doing freeriding on this board or just cruising around, I recommend you look for an 08 model, as the concave will suit your needs a lot better. the w cave is fun for tucking, but when I want to throw down my slides I know I like being able to readjust my footing very quickly, and this board just doesn't allow for that
eh
contrary to those people who say this board isn't fun, it is. It's a great all-rounder and is a lot of fun while it lasts. The pricetag isn't for everyone though and in my experience the board doesn't last too long. The flex gets "soggy" and a couple months of hard freeriding ended up killing my board. I probably wouldn't buy another one due to the price tag, but it was fun while it lasted
a great all-rounder
The price tag is the only problem I have with these wheels. They're super fun for anything you can throw at them. Great at gripping and going fast when they're new, and super fun for sliding around when you break them in. if you got the money go for it :)
I was expecting more
I picked up these wheels because I heard people saying they'd last longer than other otangs, however if you're looking for a wheel that is resistant to wear, I'd look elsewhere. I coned my set in just a couple of runs down a short hill. They do perform how they are supposed to though, icy slides all day long, really fun if you're just messing around.
gripgrippygrip
This wheel is awesome for racing, and gripping tight lines. like other wheels in reflex thane, the slides are a bit choppy, however that isn't what the wheel is intended for so that shouldn't be a problem. the thane lasts forever so it's a very good deal for your money if you're looking for a grippy wheel.
Grip it and Rip it!
I rode these wheels for a little over a year and they stayed grippy and were ready to rip all around nor-cal and so-cal. These wheels are sweet to look at and can make a nice addition to any board due to their bright color. They are really durable and maintain there grip forever. If i have anything bad to say about them is that they are almost to grippy. If you are looking for a sure and steady control these wheels rock. However this can make them a little harder to slide. On real smooth pavement they stick like glue. Im personally still working on my slides at higher speed so it may also be my lack of skill but really these wheels are great for control and will give u a nice smooth feel day and night!
Great all-around Trucks
Randal trucks are perfect trucks to start longboarding with. Very sturdy and dependable. Their stock bushings suck but it takes like $8-12 for some nicer bushings.
Overall Very nice trucks.
Loving mine!
I have to say I have a very different view on the Tan Tien. I personally love this deck. I weigh 155-160 and have Flex 3 variant. While it does not seem to have much flex in the center, if you do for a manual you will quickly see just how easy they are on this board because of the flex of the nose/tail. It makes for a perfect balance for me.
I do have to preface that by saying that a nice flexible board is my first choice for riding, and prior to the Tan Tien my go-to deck was an Earthwing.
I am 5'8" and have no problems riding this board anywhere, sliding on command, freestyling a bit, and doing a lot of parking deck carving.
I have actually begun to wonder if some of the reviews I have read online, not here per se, were made by riders inexperienced with Loaded's Flex system and may have the wrong one for their purposes. If I had my way I would actually have this board in the Flex 3 like I currently have as well as a Flex 1 just to see how tight I could get it to ride.
I can also say that bushings, not trucks, are definitely key to getting this board set up just the way you like because of the flex on the nose/tail.
This is definitely not a board for everyone and I would venture to say that a first timer would not like it much because of the short wheelbase and illusion of instability. With time though I do think this deck will surpass the others I have for its purpose in my lineup.
It has taken a permanent home in my stable of 5 decks!
