The 2010 Maryhill Festival of Speed has concluded and Colorado native Zak Maytum walked away with the win. It was a fitting way for Maytum to celebrate July 4th after singing the national anthem to the crowd earlier on in the day. It wasnt easy for Maytum who was challenged by top qualifyer Kevin Reimer who had broke the course record earlier in the event.

The final heat was Patrick Switzer, James Kelly, Joel Putrah, Scott Smith, Kevin Reimer, and Zak Maytum. The extremely fast tail wind meant that riders were coming into the lower section of the track with a lot more speed than earlier in event. The buzz among riders all week was that Maytum and Reimer were the ones to beat, that proved correct when they qualified as #1 and #2. In the final heat one of Reimer's rear wheels came off the course causing him to lose control of his board, by the time control was restored he had lost too much speed to take the win. Maytum managed to skate to a victory by staying consistent over the five days wearing his Aero helmet and riding on a Slalom board.
