Skate Australia

The Skate Australia documentary has taken a long and hard journey, with blood, sweat and tears shed. Anthony Fricker who was the tremendously passionate director of Skate Australia, died on the 2 nd of August 2009 in a downhill skateboarding accident while filming for his documentary.

The Swedish twin brothers Jonatan & Sebastian Lundmark from Dampling Productions, had been working closely with Anthony Fricker during the project. So three weeks after Anthony’s funeral they took over the entire production and dedicated a whole year to finishing Skate Australia for their beloved and greatly missed friend.

Skate Australia gives the audience a unique insight into the underground sport of Downhill Skateboarding and the lifestyle that evolves around it. The Swedish brothers have also produced the 7 minute documentary, Steep Descent. Which is a very touching and insightful back-story regarding the circumstances around Antony’s death.
